Preparing for a Tough ClassPreparing for a tough class isn't ALL about studying and more studying. There are many creative ways to prepare for a tough class. But you have to understand that there are two different kind of A's. There are easy A's and there are hard A's. Both are easy to define, yet hard to say from what class. For example, if I was a math-type person, I would easily achieve an A in that subject, at least easier than a person who struggles through math. Okay. Tough classes are easy to overcome. You can follow these steps of advice to help you through. When you have followed them all, you can make a check list and check off from below the things you have done so far. 1) Change you mood. Instead of just saying " I AM GONNA FAIL THIS CLASS!!" You should think brighter and happier. Think this : " I am just learning and everyone on the Earth makes mistakes--or struggles." If you don't think that everyone makes mistakes and you know a perfect person, then you must be seeing odd things. Because everyone makes mistakes, and EVERY uses an eraser to fix it. 2) You can try to teach someone else to teach yourself. Did you know why your science teacher is such a expert in the field of science? Have you wondered why your math teacher knows so many math equations? There is a way to prove that teaching someone something is actually a better way to digest in your learning. You can try to teach your siblings, or a friend or yourself, something that you learned from your toughest class. 3) Next, to prepare for a tough class, you can take important notes during the class session. Use abbreviations if you like. At the end of class, you can fill in the abbreviations and high-lite the main ideas of today's lessons. 4)Do you homework neatly and focused. Don't get distracted my the little things. As you finish your homework, you can recite to yourself what you learned today in that class. This method can also go to your other classes as well. 5)Make a smart friend. You know that friends are the ones that influence your lifetime. So why not make a friend who is smarter than you in many ways. IF you know a person at school that is smarter than you in the subject that you are failing on, why not make friends with them? You can always start now! ( Trust me. People won't make fun of you. You aren't a nerd. You are a scholar.) Well, if this doesn't help, you can ALWAYS send an email to us and we will give you MORE advice~ |
HELP! SINKING GRADE!hmm.....Sinking grade..huh??? Well, Lookie here! WE have some advice for you to follow...if you may wish to follow.
►Grades ...6 letters...6 helpful tips. =Prepare Well for your next exam, quiz, and/or homework. Study for them and be sure to check for mistakes. = Don't be stressed out and don't blame everyone for it. Try to encourage yourself and think positive. You know, your emotions also effect your tests. = Talk to your teacher and have them give advice to you. ( Counselor too.)Talk to them about your grade. = You need to work harder. The school that I go to told me this phrase " At 211, the water is hot. At 212, the water boils." You see? One degree makes a big difference. Just work a LITTLE harder, and harder than the little. = If you really REALLY want that A grade, ask your teacher for extra credit assignments. Those can help a lot too. =Try to get a tutor. Tutors can help and they can also learn your weakness to make the weak spot condensed. |
Test Taking Skills
Test's are probably the most fearful thing that middle school students dislike. How DO you take a good multi-choice question?? Well, here you go!
a) Teachers will seldom give out their "tricky" questions. Even if they do....(that'd be rare).....then your teacher is probably an alien! Just kidding! [ It is actually a good thing when a teacher gives out tricky questions. TO TEST YOU~! ] So as you know, don't out-smart the test maker because it probably IS just the answer that seems right.
b) You must READ THE QUESTION TWICE! Sometimes when you reread something, you can catch something that you didn't see when you read it for the first time! DID YOU KNOW THAT? I am sure you did.
c)Use the process of elimination. When you know that an answer choice is totally incorrect, then cross it out. That way, you have less to chose out of.
d)Take your time. Don't rush yourself. If you rush, you would probably take longer because you would think you have done something wrong.
f)Think positive! You can do it~! Good luck!
